End of an Era
After 38 years, The Brass Knob will be closing its doors on November 1, 2019. The past 38 years have been very rewarding with many wonderful customers as well as many wonderful employees over the years.
Starting with an interest in architectural detail, it has become a business that requires a great deal of knowledge which has kept it from ever being boring. It is in many ways the end of an era, since The Brass Knob is one of the few businesses in Adams Morgan still in business since 1981.
Starting in August, The Brass Knob is having an in store only going out of business sale. Come see us for significant discounts on all items. To our web customers we will still be happy to sell items off the website, but only offering discounted prices to customers who come to the store to pick up their purchases and all sales are final.

Opened in 1981, The Brass Knob is Washington, DC's leading architectural and salvaged decorative house part supplier. The main focus of the store is selling authentic American antique, vintage, and previously owned architectural details for both residential and commercial restorations, renovations, and to add interest and charm to new construction. The majority of the items on display date from 1870-1940.
The store and the online store stock authentic antique door and furniture hardware, many styles of vintage hardware, antique lighting and vintage lighting, including antique chandeliers, vintage wall sconces, vintage table and floor lamps, antique fireplace mantels and vintage fireplace equipment, antique stained and decorative glass, including antique beveled glass and antique leaded glass panels.
Incorporated in the extensive inventory is vintage ironwork, antique ironwork, antique decorative tiles and other unique American architectural artifacts. Many of these items are one of a kind. The merchandise encompasses a variety of styles including Georgian, Colonial Revival, Victorian Rococo, Victorian Eastlake, Mission, Art Nouveau, Arts and Crafts and Art Deco.
